Q. There is a powerful classical song that plays. It is the scene when Nite Owl and Silk Spectre leave Ozymandias. What is it called, and who composed it?

A. It's an excerpt from Mozart's Requiem. I suggest getting the whole composition as it is one of the best pieces of music ever.

How does lstening to classical music help with school work?
Q. I only understand calc II when I listen to classical music and i cant take my ipod to the test lol, but anyway how does that help ppl concentrate?

A. Studies have shown that listening to music while studying actually reduces concentration. My guess is that you are not actively listening to the music (which requires concentration on the music), but perhaps listening passively to drown out ambient sounds. It is also possible that you are a rare case, but I don't think it applies to most other people. Science has never shown that listening to any music (classical or otherwise) while performing a task helps in the performance of that task. Listening to some music that you like before doing something can help you relax, however.

A. since we have trained for a good long while to achieve the sounds we make ( we aren't miked), it takes a while to re-think the vocal apparatus for pop singing. I happen to think that the major changes occur in the vocal tract, that is, inside the mouth and throat area. We classicals are always searching for ways to create more space inside there ( yes, there are definite physical limitations, but we are searching for the optimal levels) in order to find the areas of most resonance. This makes a mike unnecessary. Obviously, with a mike to do that work, it becomes easier. How long it takes? Depends on how necessary it is?
